I am glad to have had the pleasure of working with Ms. April Morton, during her time as webmaster for the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida (UNF). Ms. Morton is very skilled in graphic design and helped the International Business Flagship Program better showcase our international opportunities for students.
During her time at UNF, Ms. Morton enthusiastically accepted assignments and looked forward to conversations about collaborative projects. I imagine it must be very difficult for a designer to find a balance between her artistic vision and her the wishes of her “clients”. But Ms. Morton was always open to alterations based on feedback from our office staff and more than willing to cooperate. Ms. Morton also contacted all of the appropriate constituents if she planned to be out of the office for an extended period of time and to alert us of her work hours each semester. Having this information was very helpful in managing expectations. Additionally, the website that Ms. Morton updated for the Coggin College of Business was the envy of other colleges at UNF. I remember meeting with the UNF webmaster to discuss some issues, and before our meeting began, she divulged that colleges had been contacting her to find out how to make their pages more like ours. This is a testament to Ms. Morton’s keen eye and web design skills. Ms. Morton would be an asset to any organization where creativity and free expression are encouraged. Kate M. April Morton served as the web and graphic designer for the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida for almost two years. During this time I collaborated with April to create publications, marketing materials, and web content for the Career Management Center. In my experience, April was a creative and talented graphic designer.
During her tenure, April produced dozens of graphics, logos, posters, fliers, web banners, and ground signs that were unique and attractive. With her assistance, our office was able to successfully market the events, programs, and resources of the Career Management Center to thousands of UNF students. Furthermore, April quickly adapted to our web management system, and helped us to improve and update the overall look and feel of the Coggin College of Business website. In order to execute these projects, April utilized her skills and expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software and CMS web management systems. Overall, April is imaginative in her design, has a diverse skill set, and with the proper direction and feedback she can produce excellent work. Sincerely, Melinda Santos, M.Ed. │ Career Coordinator Coggin Career Management Center University of North Florida I am 100 percent satisfied with the work that April has done for me. Adrienne Kile Pastry Chef To whom it may concern,
I am writing to wholeheartedly endorse April Morton. She would make an outstanding employee. I first met April when she interned at TCG as a junior graphic designer under my supervision. Six weeks later, she returned to college. I made note that April is a quick learner, energetic, and hardworking. April is also very flexible and eager to take on new challenges. When working on a projects she showed that she could ask questions and follow through while maintaining creative integrity. I’m convinced April will be as great an asset to your company as she has been to me. Molly White Graphic Designer, Artist, and Photographer I commissioned April to come up with design suggestions for a redesign of one of my web sites. She had 5 days to review the information I had given her and to come up with some recommendations. When we met to review her proposal, I was very pleasantly surprised; not only did she prepare a professional-looking, detailed document with multiple web color palette options, but she also had mock-ups of various possible web layouts that would work for my site. Even though she is still a college student, she is already displaying a level of professionalism not often seen in the workplace. I was very impressed with April, and I look forward to working with her in the future.
